Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages. Ashley has worked on babies a few minutes after being born right through to people in their last hours of life. Osteopathy offers a holistic approach that treats the individual, rather than focusing on conditions, offering support and solutions to all kinds of situations.

Osteopathy is a therapeutic system of diagnosis and treatment which addresses structural and mechanical dysfunctions of the body. It is both science and healing art.
Ashley is a Cranial Osteopath using gentle and profoundly effective techniques with the hands to restore, maintain, and support well-being.
Osteopathy is a unique, detailed, total body treatment which engages the body’s own innate drive towards normal function. It is highly effective for specific acute injuries and chronic health issues. Tension in one system, can affect the whole body. Relieving tensions and strains in one area can have far reaching beneficial effects across all systems. Your body will always try to heal itself, but sometimes it needs a helping hand. Osteopathy can be the catalyst to assist your body to regain its healthy balance.
Mother and baby
Ashley has a special interest in treating mothers and babies.
Being born is often traumatic for the baby. Cranial osteopathy is perfectly suited for working with infants and children. Sorting out early problems and providing occasional maintenance to deal with early bangs and bumps gives the child the best possible chance in life.
Giving birth is invariably traumatic for the mother as well. The most important thing for a child is mother’s love, which is easier to give when the mother is well and happy.
Postnatal trauma is a great example of how structure governs function. The tissues of the pelvis are traumatised by giving birth (Caesarean section is often worse) which may cause hormones to deviate, leading to depression. Releasing the stress in the pelvis can help to restore normal function.
Clinical Kinesiology
Clinical Kinesiology is a diagnostic tool that Ashley also uses and is often referred to as muscle testing, which is useful for testing for allergies and whether there is a need for nutritional supplements.
The term Clinical Kinesiology (CK) was coined by Dr Alan Beardall DC to describe his system of muscle testing. Dr Beardall was considered by his peers to be head and shoulders above the rest of the world. Since Dr Beardall’s untimely passing in 1987, CK was advanced in UK by Richard Holding DO.
Ashley has further developed CK into an elegant diagnostic & therapeutic framework which enhances clarity in muscle testing. This has enabled him to pinpoint problems, clearly demonstrate improvements in muscle function during the treatment and to compare past and present function to show any progress being made.
